Digital/Social Strategy: Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S., and the only major cause of death without a prevention or cure. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the biggest fundraising event of the year, and has an important personal connection both for myself and my sisters in the Sigma Kappa sorority.

As the Public Relations Chair for Sigma Kappa, I created and executed the #WhyIWalk campaign on multiple social media platforms to raise awareness and generate donations toward the Walk. I knew that the Walk is extremely personal for its participants, so I encouraged people to share content that described the reason behind their walk. My chapter raised $63,498, more than any other chapter in the nation and the highest amount we’ve ever reached.
