Giving a voice to the audio boom

The client: Volley (voice game developer for Amazon Alexa, Google Home and other smart devices)

The story: Voice tech has been around for decades, but voice-controlled experiences are finally taking the spotlight. As platforms like Clubhouse and Discord took off in 2020, more consumers started adopting voice entertainment and recognizing the benefits of audio.

Volley is the far-and-away leader in voice games — and we needed to make it known. Discovering popular apps on audio platforms can be a challenge since you can’t see the interface, so we needed to drive more consumer awareness and establish credibility with business audiences. Using the pandemic “audio boom” as a springboard for storytelling, we proactively reached out to media offering insight on what was coming next for voice. We also collaborated closely with the Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant teams for product announcements.

The results: Drove coverage in top tech publications, establishing Volley as a leading authority on the emerging audio boom.
